| Susy earned her doctorate from the University of Washington in Educational Psychology, her Master's degree from Seattle Pacific University in Community Counseling, and her Bachelor's degree from Seattle Pacific University in Sociology. She is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in both the State of Washington and the State of Maine. Susy has worked in the field of mental health, trauma, and communities for 18 years. She has a private practice where she works primarily with children and adolescents, treating trauma, mood disorders, and early onset psychotic disorders. She has conducted research in the areas of trauma, spirituality, resilience, and environmental factors contributing to resilience. A speaker and teacher in the field of trauma, resilience, and spirituality, Susy enjoys sharing and co-creating knowledge with those around her. Prior to working directly in the mental health arena, Susy was an exhibiting artist. Her medium include fiber, color pencil and multi-media collage. Her first authored community project was The Homeskills Workshop, a therapeutic art studio where rural women learned to spin, knit, weave, exhibit and sell their goods. Four of Susy's former students have gone on to place in national juried exhibits. Susy has relocated to the beautiful State of Maine with her husband, Dave, a native of Maine. She has opened Morning Bridge Center, with the primary focus on providing refreshment retreats to support the resilience of emergency and trauma responders. She also will continue with her work in private practice, consulting, writing, speaking and most likely painting furniture and playing the piano. |

Dave will help you to schedule your retreat and provide breakfasts during your stay at the Morning Bridge Farmhouse. As a trained geologist, he can also take you on nature walks and hlep you to identify local strata and hidden treasures. He manages the cottage rentals and makes all reservations. |
